treatment units

Treatment units are the central devices in all dental practices.
Treatment chairs enable the dentist to place the patient in the desired treatment position in order to achieve optimal treatment results.
The dental units usually have 5 different instruments such as a multi-function syringe, a turbine, two motors, also called runners, a ZEG and then a camera or a light device for the treatment on the doctor's side, usually to the right of the patient.
On the assistant's side, usually to the left of the patient, there are three additional auxiliary instruments, usually a small and a large suction device and a multifunctional syringe.
Dental chairs usually have an integrated water treatment system in which the water in the treatment unit is separated from the building's water supply by a gravity flow. In addition, the units also have a mixing system in which germ-reducing agents are added to the tap water.
The waste water is also taken care of: many dentist chairs have a so-called Almagam separator, which generates a centrifugal force through a rapidly rotating sieve and retains the heavy elements in the waste water as well as old Almagam clots or their remains in the sieve.
The oral cavity is usually illuminated by a treatment light, also called an operating light.
The lamp is also the topmost element of a treatment unit and usually shines focused LED light from above into the patient's oral cavity.
There are different treatment chairs for different applications. For example, in a room where only prophylaxis is carried out, expensive elements such as an Almagam separator can or should be dispensed with. On the one hand, it is not needed because, for example, Almagam clots are not removed in this room anyway, and on the other hand, the sieve of the separator would only be quickly and unnecessarily clogged with powder by the airflow process.
And orthodontists only need a small fraction of the instruments available in conventional treatment units and no special wastewater separation systems.

More about treatment chairs or dentist chairs

Dental chairs, also known as dentist chairs, are specially designed chairs used in dental offices to assist patients during dental procedures. They are designed to maximize patient comfort while providing the dentist with an optimal working position.

A typical treatment chair consists of a padded seat, backrest and armrests. The upholstery is often made of high-quality synthetic leather or a similar material that is easy to clean and disinfect. The seat and backrest can usually be individually adjusted to meet the patient's needs and ensure a comfortable position during treatment.

Dental chairs often have a variety of features that allow the dentist to adjust the position of the chair as needed. This can include height adjustment, backrest tilt, and armrest position. Some more advanced models even have electric or hydraulic controls to allow for precise adjustment.

In addition, dental chairs are often equipped with various accessories that help the dentist perform treatments. These include, for example, an adjustable headrest to keep the patient's head in the correct position, as well as holders for instruments and suction devices.

Most modern dental chairs are also equipped with integrated lighting to give the dentist an optimal view of the patient's oral cavity. This lighting can be adjusted in intensity and position to meet the dentist's individual needs.
